As far as the American Music Awards is concerned, Taylor Swift was the top winner.
After pulling off a stunning performance on stage, Swift won six awards during the event including artist of the year. The performer also made history by becoming the artist with the most wins. She was also awarded artist of the decade which was announced prior to the show.
Swift performed a medley of her greatest hits songs in honour of being awarded Artist of the Decade and she started the performance with “The Man” from “lover” her latest Album. She performed songs from throughout her career including “I knew you where trouble” she also sang “Shake it Off” with Halsey and Camila Cabello and “Lover” with a special performance by dancer Misty Copeland.
The Artist of the Decade award was presented to Taylor Swift by Carole King. In appreciation the singer/songwriter took time out to tell the world how much King’s music meant to her and her family.
“The last year of my life had has some of the most amazing times and also some of the hardest things I’ve gone through.”
Swift said in the final speech of the night. “I want to thank you so much for being the thing that has been a constant in my life.”
